The Roots - "Things Fall Apart" 15 year anniversary

I'd like to acknowledge the 15 year anniversary of a classic hip hop/neo soul album I hold close to my heart. The Roots' "Things Fall Apart" was one of the greatest albums of the decade and stands the test of time. This album went platinum after 14 years and received a Grammy for its single "You Got Me" with Erykah Badu back in 1999. Happy Anniversary to TFA and Okayplayer! #theroots #thingsfallapart #okayplayer #questlove#blackthought #soulquarians

De La Soul gave away most of their catalog away for free!

You read that right!
Disclaimer: I apologize to all two of my followers that I didn't upload this yesterday lol

Yes, the three plugs, the pioneers of the D.A.I.S.Y. Age, the guys who told us that the Stakes were High, made most of their catalog available for download yesterday, February 14, 2014, at 11 am until February 15, at 12 pm. I am an avid De La Soul fan, and even though I already had most of their music, I just felt like participating in this. I'm quite glad I did, because I did NOT have the "Remixes, Rarities, and Instrumentals" album that was included in the download (I NEARLY CRIED WHEN I OPENED THAT ZIP FILE, B). I am so grateful for the De La camp for allowing their fans to get their music for FREE 99!! As many know, normally all but one De La album has been available for digital album, which is 2004's "The Grind Date" (I believe this is their least successful/favored album). De La were involved in a nasty lawsuit because of problems with sample clearances from their first GAME CHANGING album, "3 Feet High and Rising".... soooooo in turn, all of their proceeding albums have not been accessible online. If you wanted their music, you had to PURCHASE it!! (Oh nooooo)... Haha, kidding. Since I am a CD collector (don't have a record player OR vinyl, sadly), I would have rather bought their music anyway. I got on the De La tip a few years back and have been buying their CDs, and after Christmas 2013, I was able to purchase their 6th studio album, "AOI: Bionix" (thus nearly completing my collection). All I have left to get actually is "The Grind Date" and I do plan on actually buying it either in stores or from Amazon.com, which is how I got most of the De La albums anyway. Hopefully you all have heard about this news yesterday and have jumped on the opportunity to get the music!

Take care!!
